Antique Chinese Ink Stone Scenery with Stamp
Chinese ink stone scenery used in calligraphy and painting. Ink stones were considered as one of four essential components to Chinese scholar's studio. The ink stones of this kind date from early antiquity in China. The demand for ink stones increased during the Tang Dynasty (618-905) and reached its peak in the Song Dynasty (960-1279).
Approx 15.5" x 8" x 3" in size and fairly heavy. The original seal is stamped on the back of the stone.
